Steven Gerrard has confirmed he will train with Liverpool next week but ruled out returning to Anfield on a loan move.
Gerrard left his boyhood club after nearly 17 years to join LA Galaxy on an 18-month deal at the end of last season.
The 35-year-old, who admitted he struggled during his first season in America, has since returned to England for a break following Galaxy’s exit from the MLS Western Conference play-offs.
Jurgen Klopp said earlier this month he would be happy for Gerrard to train with the squad and the Reds legend said on Tuesday he was looking forward to working with the German manager.
“Yeah next week I’m going to go in for a couple of weeks and work with Mr Klopp,” Gerrard said.
“I’m looking really forward to that, see what he’s about and try and learn a few things off him.”
However, when asked if this would lead to a temporary move back to the Reds during the winter, he told BT Sport: “No.”
