A military jet has crashed in Syria near the Turkish border, Turkish TV reported, adding that it is as yet unclear which country the plane belonged to. The fate of the crew is also unclear.

Reuters reports that Habertürk TV has shown footage showing a jet in flames. Habertürk TV reporter on the scene said that the aircraft “turned into a fireball.”
The pilots of the crashed jet managed to eject, Habertürk reported, adding that the plane had reportedly violated Turkish airspace. According to CNN Turk, the plane was shot down by Turkish military.
